Why Am I Working on My Business Every Weekend?

If you've ever asked yourself "why am I working on my business every weekend," there's a good chance Saturday doesn't feel much like Saturday anymore.

You wake up and tell yourself you're only going to knock out a couple things.

Answer that email you forgot about.

Send an estimate.

Respond to a few reviews.

Upload some pictures from this week's jobs.

Maybe make that change to the website you've been putting off.

Nothing major.

Then you look up and it's almost noon.

There goes Saturday morning.

And next weekend?

You'll probably do it again.

The Business Has Started Borrowing Time From Your Life

I understand why it happens.

During the week, customers come first. Employees need you. Jobs have to get done. Problems pop up that you couldn't have planned for.

So everything that isn't urgent gets pushed aside.

Marketing is one of the easiest things to push.

Google isn't going to call you Thursday afternoon and remind you that your profile needs attention.

Your website isn't going to complain that it hasn't been updated.

Those things just sit there.

Until Saturday.

Then you use the time that was supposed to be yours catching up on everything you couldn't get done during the week.

Do that long enough and it becomes normal.

That's the part I don't like.

Because if you're constantly wondering why am I working on my business every weekend, the answer probably isn't that you need to become better at managing your Saturdays.

You have too much on your plate.

And there's a cost to that beyond being tired.

If your marketing only gets attention when you have spare time, it's never going to get the consistency it needs.

Reviews go unanswered.

Photos don't get uploaded.

Your Google presence gets stale.

Your website gets ignored.

Meanwhile, the competitor down the road keeps showing up when customers search.

Now you're losing twice.

You're giving up your time and potentially losing customers.

That's a lousy deal.

Your Saturday Is Worth More Than This

Here's where I come in.

I handle the Google and local marketing work that keeps ending up on your weekend list.

The goal isn't just to get your business seen by more people.

I want the right people finding you when they're already looking for what you do.

And I want that happening without you spending Saturday morning trying to figure out Google.

That's the part of marketing I think gets overlooked.

You're not just buying advertising.

You're buying your time back.

You run the company.

Take care of your customers.

Lead your employees.

Spend Saturday morning with your family.

Go golfing.

Go fishing.

Sleep until 10.

I don't really care what you do with the time.

I just don't think you should have to spend it worrying about your Google Business Profile.

So if you've been asking "why am I working on my business every weekend," maybe the answer isn't working faster.

Maybe it's finally taking something off your plate.

If marketing is one of those things, that's where I can help.

I'll worry about getting your business found on Google.

You take your Saturday back.
