Why Are Worse Competitors Showing Up Above My Business?

This might be one of the most frustrating things about Google.
You search for the service your business provides.
And there they are.
The company you know doesn't do better work than you.
Maybe you've fixed their mistakes before.
Maybe you've had customers come to you after having a bad experience with them.
Maybe you've been doing this twice as long as they have.
Yet they're sitting above you on Google.
If you've ever wondered "why are worse competitors showing up above my business," here's the uncomfortable answer.
Google doesn't know they're worse.
And it doesn't automatically know you're better.
Being the Better Business Doesn't Guarantee Better Google Rankings
Google can't ride along with your crew tomorrow.
It can't watch how you treat a customer.
It doesn't know that you answer the phone when there's a problem.
It doesn't see the extra twenty minutes you spend making sure a job is done right.
Google has to work with the information it has.
Your Google Business Profile.
Your reviews.
Your website.
Your location and service information.
Your photos.
Your overall presence online.
And if a competitor is doing a better job of giving Google what it needs, they can show up ahead of you.
Even if you'd beat them where it actually matters.
Doing the work.
Those Competitors Aren't Just Taking a Spot on Google
This is where it starts costing you money.
Being one position below a competitor might not sound like a huge deal.
But we're not really fighting over positions.
We're fighting over customers.
Someone needs the service you provide.
They search Google.
Your competitor appears.
They have plenty of reviews. Their profile looks active. Their website answers the customer's questions.
The customer calls.
You never hear about it.
Tomorrow, it happens again.
Then again next week.
That's why better Google rankings matter.
Not because being number one feels good.
Because the businesses customers see first usually get an opportunity before the businesses buried underneath them do.
And you can't win a job you never get the chance to quote.
Better Google Rankings Don't Happen Because You Deserve Them
This is where I see business owners get understandably frustrated.
They think:
"We've been here 20 years. Why should I have to prove anything to Google?"
I get it.
But your history doesn't help much if Google can't understand it.
Your reputation doesn't help if it's barely represented online.
Your great work doesn't help someone searching tonight if they can't find you.
You can hate that reality.
Or you can do something about it.
I'll Help You Compete for Better Google Rankings
That's where I come in.
I help local businesses turn the reputation they've already earned in the real world into a stronger presence on Google.
I'll look at the companies outranking you.
I'll look at what Google is seeing from them that it isn't seeing from you.
I'll dig into your Google Business Profile, reviews, website, and local presence.
Then I'll work on closing those gaps.
And I'm not going to hand you a giant list of things to figure out yourself.
I'll handle the work.
Because you shouldn't be spending Monday night trying to figure out why the company whose mistakes you've fixed three times this year is outranking you.
You've got a business to run.
Let me worry about Google.
If you're tired of watching competitors you know you can beat show up above you, let's find out why it's happening.
