Most Problems Are Really Communication Problems

When something goes wrong in a practice the easy answer is to blame the person. They dropped the ball. They didn’t follow through. They weren’t paying attention.

But most of the time the real problem is communication. The expectation wasn’t clear. The follow up didn’t happen. The system was inconsistent. Or the message just never landed the way you thought it did.

That’s why the same problems keep coming back. You can coach the person all you want but if the communication doesn’t change nothing else will either.

Organizational development helps you see where the breakdowns are. It helps you get specific about how expectations are set how information is shared and how feedback is given. It helps you stop assuming people know and start confirming they do.

When communication gets clearer everything else gets easier. Mistakes go down. Frustration levels drop. Patient experience improves. And your team feels less like they’re working against each other and more like they’re working together.

If you’re tired of fixing the same problems over and over again it might be time to look at how your practice communicates.
